Pride. Everyone has it, most misuse it, and some regrettably don't have enough of it. It lurks in every corner of the world. It can make your head large, it can make you look like a jerk, and can even totally turn off people around you. Even though a sense of it is good, too much of it can turn you into the most obnoxious person around.
Most of you probably have no idea what I am even getting out but that's ok, just go with it. Lately, I've encountered many who, sadly, seem like nice people, with one problem.... they are completely too prideful! It drives me nuts. Nothing is wrong with knowing you're good at something or knowing your talents.....but blatantly rubbing things in others faces to one up yourself is... unattractive to say the least. Bragging about your dating habits, your constant work success, or even your body... let's face it... NOT attractive. What's more, is I really don't care about that type of stuff anyways. I care more in what people do for others. *sigh* It seems Las Vegas will forever fail me in this area....not surprisingly. The attitude of the people here is quite frankly....shameful and embarrassing in the ways of pride. Dear Utah... you are looking better and better as we speak from so far away. ha. now that's a good one.... but it's true. Ah. The Utah Mormon blues.
read it and rant.
yours always,
Jess
